BACKGROUND The People & Training Directorate is responsible for delivery of the MOD Sponsored Cadet Forces iaw Defence Enabling Objective 11.11, for the RN. Operating under the direction of Dir P&T, who in turn delegates to Comd RN CF, the responsibilities encompass the funding, support and management of training and activities delivered to RN-recognised Youth organisations, collectively known as Royal Naval Cadet Forces (RN CF) which incorporates the Sea Cadet Corps, Combined Cadet Force RN /RM, RN Recognised Sea Scouts, and Volunteer Cadet Corps RN /RM. This includes the development of training programmes by which the RN can interact with the wider youth community and provide opportunities for the RN to support Government youth policy in the development of young people. The Combined Cadet Force Royal Navy-Royal Marines Headquarters CCF HQ RN-RM, under Commanding Officer CCF, proactively plan, resource and deliver activities for the CCF and wider Naval Cadet family and is primarily responsible for providing a challenging and stimulating ‘cadet experience’ within schools that develops and inspires young people through the ethos and standards of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. ROLE DESCRIPTION & SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Under the Terms and Conditions set by the Naval Services for this position, the post holder is responsible for providing effective assistance, advice, guidance and training within their designated area in support of the CCF (RN) Field Days, Camps and Courses, Cadet Syllabus and CCF activities. The individual will work within the CCF RN/RM Support Department and with the requirement to travel nationally in support of training delivery, safety and assurance, and ensuring the timely implementation of the recommendations from 2SL’s RN Cadet Forces Independent Review 2024 and adherence with of our Safety Environment Management Plan. Primary Roles: Act as 1PAL2 assurance in HQ for all CCF RN and RM activities submitted. Coordinate Field Day assurance process. Liaison with CCF RN/RM Safety team to ensure planned activities are conducted in accordance with RNCF Liaise with the RN CCF RN/RM Admin Team to distribute communications out to school sections, CFAV’s and staff. Act as Liaison for HMS Excellent and HMS Raleigh DRIU and FF for visiting CCF sections. Maintain and issue the Weekly Activity Summary. Detail: Monitor all activities (RN and RM) planned within the Westminster Planning Tool (WPT) – ensuring compliance, assurance and the process including relevant timeframes are adhered to. Manage the submission of Event Activation Notice (EAN) by processing paperwork for approval for CCF events. Manage the progress of activities, liaising and coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure the assurance process is completed ahead of the activity. Ensure all attendance is up to date for activity. Attend meetings and conferences concerned with the planning and delivery of School or HQ events as directed by WOS / Warrant Officer Training (WOT). Act as the HQ liaison POC for school visits to Defence Estate including Ship’s Visits. Safety and training assurance sampling by conducting 1PAL2 assurance visits to CCF RN/RM activities nationally iaw RNCF SEMP, Cadet Safety Working Group and as directed by WOS. Work alongside CCF RN/RM civil servant staff and liaise with CCF RN/RM Safety team to facilitate, camps, courses and field days across the UK. Liaise with CBRNDC Course Bookings for the allocation for the RNCF DRIU and FF allocations and manage allocations to RN/RM school sections. To use the Cadet Information System (CIMS) Westminster to publicise events and activities. Maintain an authoritative and comprehensive overview of all planned CCF RN/RM activities, including their position within the assurance process. Circulate an updated Activity Summary to all CCF staff on a weekly basis. Secondary Tasks Support WOS / SO2 Pers in the maintenance of the CCF RN/RM Modnet SharePoint and Defence Connect sites. Review and update relevant Forms and Documentation associated with CCF RN/RM activities. To ensure both Cadet and Cadet Force Adult Volunteer Next of Kin, Emergency contact and Travel information details is promulgated and updated on the CIMS prior to CCF RN/RM Events. Attend national meetings concerned with the planning and delivery of CCF RN/RM Events. Support the information management plan as the Information Support Assistant (ISA). Support and deliver on Camps, Courses and Field Days Nationally as directed by WOS / WOT. Carry out any other tasks relevant to the planning and successful delivery of training IAW the WOS / WOTs Intent. Must be able to manage and drive change forwards. Communication & Influence Must display strong communication, ability to inform and persuade in a logical, fluent, convincing manner. Staff work must be accurate and to a high standard. AUTHORITY AND COMMITTEES The post holder is authorised to liaise directly with internal and external stakeholders as necessary on behalf of the CDR CCF for the delivery of these responsibilities.
