Midwife - Antenatal Clinic / Triage Band 6
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Midwife to join our Antenatal Clinic Team, delivering high quality, woman centre care across the antenatal pathway. This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team focused on safe, evidence base maternity care. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive antenatal care, including routine and specialist appointments, health education, care planning for women with low and high risk pregnancies. You will play a key role in promoting normality, identifying risk, escalating concerns appropriately and supporting women and families through out their pregnancy. This post is ideal for an experienced midwife who is confident in clinical decision making, committed to continuity of care and passionate about improving antenatal outcomes.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who is a registered midwife with the NMC.
Has post registration experience in antenatal care.
Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills, upholds trusts vision and values, shows enthusiasm for quality improvement and professional development.
* Delivering autonomous high quality antenatal care in line with national and local guidelines.
* Identifying, monitoring and escalating clinical or safeguarding concerns.
* Providing health promotion, screening information and personalised care planning. Working collaboratively with obstetricians, specialist midwives and the wider MDT.
The role will involve delivering high quality care for complex pregnancies in both the antenatal clinic and the antenatal assessment unit, working collaboratively with the sonography, obstetric and wider multidisciplinary team. The role will include working within our satellite clinics in Gainsborough and Grantham Antenatal care includes following the public health guidance around screening for both mothers and newborn. Specialist clinics include fetal medicine, multiple pregnancy clinics, preterm birth prevention clinics, and combined endocrine/obstetric clinics. A vaccination service is also provided by midwives for patients and the role will involve training so that women can be offered Flu, pertussis and RSV vaccines as part of their antenatal care.
Job responsibilities
The role requires managing antenatal care pathways, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, delivering health education, and ensuring continuity of care from pregnancy to childbirth.
Person Specification
Qualification
* Registered Midwife with the NMC
* Recognised teaching qualification
* Diploma in Midwifery
* Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development
* Recognised management qualification
* Degree in Midwifery
Evidence of Particular: Knowledge, Skills, Aptitudes
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Skilled in multidisciplinary working
* Change management
* Awareness & knowledge of the dignity in care agenda

Previous Experience
* Completion of Trust Maternity
* Preceptorship pack or equivalent experience (able to perform Perineal suturing, IV Cannulation, IV Drug Additives, Phlebotomy)
* Able to undertake, interpret and apply appropriate research findings.
* Demonstrate involvement in clinical audit and standard setting.
* Skilled and updated in all spheres of midwifery practice

Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year pro rata
