Job Title: Showroom Manager, Bathrooms + Plumbing + HeatingLocation: Maidstone, KentSalary: £35k + per annum depending on experience + Benefits + BonusSector: Construction or Builders MerchantRole OverviewAs a Showroom Manager you will support and oversee our showroom, ensuring performance is sustained at its current level and optimised for continuous growth. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance and the correct implementation of company policies and procedures. As a Showroom Manager you will lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve objectives.As a Showroom Manager, you will have extensive experience in a Builders' Merchant environment preferably within the bathrooms + P+H sector, either at local or national level.
You will have experience in managing a team, at varying disciplines and career levels.You will have experience in the Merchant trade, including but not limited to Bathrooms, Plumbing and General building.Duties will include, but are not limited to-GeneralWorking on special projects as required from time to timeProviding out of hours support for the alarm and CCTV providers, including being first on call for your branch with the requirement to attend site as and when appropriateBe a key holder for the branch.Responding to and dealing with any customer complaints which have been received by the branch.People ManagementLead by example and communicate with staff in a way that makes them feel valued and supported whilst adopting an appropriate leadership styleWork with and develop staff capabilities, ensuring any underperformance is identified and the necessary support and coaching is provided to ensure improvementEnsure tasks are delegated effectively to maximise individual's performanceLooking at staffing levels and the allocation of resources to ensure the branch runs efficiently and effectivelyInterview, recruit and induct all new employees in conjunction with HRAuthorise and collate weekly and monthly payroll information ensuring it is submitted in a timely mannerCarry out any necessary disciplinary and grievance hearings with support and guidance from HRBranch PerformanceEnsure stock takes are completed fully and any material variances are to be investigatedOversee the management of stock levels, ensuring adequate levels are maintainedEnsure a timely delivery service is being offered to customers and customer service standards are maintainedEnsure the necessary system housekeeping is carried out such as order monitor, i.e. all orders are still validDevelop and enhance working relationships with suppliersAuthorised to make trading sales and margin decisions up to defined levelsWork closely with other branches to ensure optimum use of stockChange and improvementsProposing changes to the Operations Manager and ensuring all approved changes are communicated and implemented accordinglyEnsure fairness and consistency is applied across the branch when making decisions or changeHealth & Safety/ComplianceEnsuring Health & Safety Regulations are followed, and the branch maintains a high standard of tidiness to ensure complianceWork with local councils and other agencies as and when required to ensure prohibitions notices are not servedActively encourage staff to take responsibility (ownership) for their working area and ensure standards are metEnsuring tachographs and drivers hours are being monitored and information is collated and acted upon accordingly to ensure there are no impacts on the Operator licence. Regular checks (audits) may be requiredEnsure any incidents involving plant or company vehicles are reported within the required timescales and the necessary procedures are followed for example, photographs taken of the damage and the sceneProvide prompt and accurate reports of any injuries which occur on-site ensuring any necessary paperwork is completed fullyResponsible for ensuring company procedures are being followed such as banking and completing the paperwork correctly.
