The Role
Passenger Assistants are vital in supporting young people with special educational needs, ensuring a safe environment during journeys to and from home/school. You will be responsible for ensuring passengers board safely, are secured, and their safety and wellbeing are maintained throughout the journey. Relevant training will be provided for this rewarding role.
We offer 15-hour term-time contracts with core hours from 7:30am to 9:00am and 2:45pm to 4:15pm, Monday to Friday. We are also recruiting casual Passenger Assistants to cover sickness, holidays, and busy periods.
About You
You should be able to work with children and adults with various needs, demonstrating dignity, respect, and effective communication with parents and carers. A compassionate and caring nature, flexibility, motivation, and the ability to follow instructions and remain calm in emergencies are essential. Physical fitness to run, bend, stretch, push, pull, lift, carry, and kneel is required. Good organization skills and adaptability to changing situations are important.
