An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Duty Solicitor to join our clients Crime Department. Our client is ideally seeking 2 years' PQE, but it also welcoming applications from newly qualified Solicitors. Key Responsibilities: Manage your own criminal law caseload Assist the Head of Department on complex matters Advocate in court on a wide variety of cases Prepare cases for Crown Court Represent clients at police stations Act as a Duty Solicitor Work outside office hours when required Travel between offices, courts and police stations as needed Requirements: Qualified Duty Criminal Solicitor (2 years PQE preferred; NQs considered) Strong case and time management skills Excellent communication and organisational abilities Proficiency in IT Professional, polite and patient manner Ability to meet office targets, budgets and billing requirements Sound knowledge of Criminal Law Understanding of Law Society requirements for private practice Commitment to ongoing training and development Higher Rights of Audience desirable Why Join Our Client?
