The RAC is renowned for roadside rescue, but our SMR division is a fast-growing segment focused on delivering planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to our members—right from their driveway to their workplace car park. Say goodbye to emergency callouts and unpredictable shifts!
What to Expect
Your day will kick off with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and the member is expecting you. You’ll be responsible for:
* Routine servicing
* Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
* In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
* Providing member advice and recommendations based on your inspections
* Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
With SMR, you’ll have the time and tools to deliver quality work, supported by a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics.

What You’ll Need
* Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
* A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
