Catering Supervisor

We are looking for a friendly, flexible and conscientious individual to join our small Catering team at Alnwick infirmary Hospital working as a Cook / Catering Supervisor.
The regular shift requirement for this role would currently be 5 x 7.5 hr shifts between Monday - Sunday, working a share of either 7am-3pm or 10pm-6pm. Enhanced rate applies to any weekend and bank holiday working hours.
Other hours may be available and we are also looking to recruit to our staff bank.

Main duties of the job
As Cook / Catering Supervisor, you have responsibility for the receipt of goods and produce, checking for quality of goods, temperature, correct quantity as per order to suppliers and the storage of such goods in the appropriate area within the time limits set out in the department policy on HACCP.
You must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge and compliance with the department policy on HACCP.
You must be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare food for patients and/or staff using both cook/chill products and fresh produce, and to be able to check temperature levels and be aware of the Food Temperature Regulations.
You will be responsible for supervising the small team whilst on duty.
You must demonstrate a level of computer literacy sufficient to use the online rostering and ordering systems in place.

Job responsibilities
The provision of a high quality, efficient, complete catering service for customers, patientsand visitors in compliance with the Trust Patient Confidentiality Policy.
To provide a high quality catering service for patients, staff and visitors trust-wide.
Cleanliness of your own workstation is essential with a policy of clean as you go in this and other areas to the appropriate standard.
Must be able to demonstrate an awareness of the Food Safety Act and be able to work to the highest standards in both quality and hygiene.
To comply with all mandatory training requirements for Hygiene, Fire, Manual Handling and any other training deemed necessary for the efficient running of catering services.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
* General Education
* Level 1 Food Safety Certificate or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge/ Experience
* Basic COSHH Awareness
* Customer Service Training
* Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or equivalent
* Supervisory Experience
