Healthcare Support Worker - Humber Centre and Pine View

Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HTFT would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to work within secure services.

The post offers the successful candidates a unique opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience of specialist forensic pathways all under one roof. The team is fast paced, forward thinking and promotes a psychological and trauma informed approach with a focus upon a relational model.

You will be passionate about delivering a high standard of care, working with Men; their families and the professionals who support them to ensure that the care offered is needs based keeping the service user at the heart of all decisions about them.


Main duties of the job

The role is highly challenging and there is an emphasis on further training, as well as professional and personal development. Regular clinical supervision and support will be provided.

We are looking for staff with caring, compassionate natures, who are innovative, creative, flexible and highly motivated. You need to have a genuine interest in working therapeutically with young people who are experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties.

You should be a good communicator and team player, with the successful applicant joining a multi-disciplinary team of professionals working into specialist teams. The successful applicant will be involved in providing a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.

Person Specification


Experience

* Demonstrable experience of working within physical or mental health services
* Competency in taking physical observations


Qualifications and Knowledge

* Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience
* Working knowledge of physical or mental health issues including: mental health legislation, medication management
* To have an understanding of mental health or learning disability issues
* Committed to undertake the Care Certificate course within the first 12 weeks of commencing.


Skills and Competencies

* Evidence of effective inter-personal communication skills
* Ability to motivate others
* Good organisational skills
* A team player
* Ability to carry out instructions given by qualified colleagues
* Ability to work without direct supervision
* Mandatory training for the management of violence and aggression
