Job Description:

Our station in Newcastle-under-Lyme requires a qualified and motivated individual to join the operations maintenance team as a Skilled Technician.
Working hours: 40 per week.
The role involves ensuring that all plant and equipment on site is repaired and serviced to recognized standards, following the preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime of sortation equipment.
The Operations Maintenance Technician must have excellent organizational and communication skills, and responsibilities include:
1. Organizing team maintenance and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation within operational timeframes.
2. Monitoring workflow, identifying potential problems, and taking corrective actions.
3. Communicating effectively with Depot and Operations Managers, Section Leaders, and the Control Room.
4. Ensuring smooth traffic flow across machinery with attention to Health and Safety.
5. Completing all required documentation accurately on a nightly basis.
6. Adhering to operational and maintenance procedures as per the Group Operations Manual to maintain customer service standards.
7. Returning all equipment to designated areas after use and maintaining equipment in safe working order, reporting any defects.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, hold a City and Guilds Electrical/Mechanical engineering qualification, and possess:
* Knowledge of 16th or 17th Edition electrical regulations
* Proven electrical/mechanical maintenance experience
* Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams
* Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment
* Flexibility with shift patterns
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation
* Full driving license
