Release Support Officer – HMP Dovegate Contract: Fixed Term, 6 months, Part-time (20 hours per week) Location: HMP Dovegate, ST14 8XR Salary: £12,733 – £15,000 per annum We are looking for a Release Support Officer to join Serco at HMP Dovegate. This role is central to resettlement and pre-release planning, ensuring individuals leaving custody have the essentials they need to begin their next chapter. You will work closely with prison staff, external agencies and the Department for Work and Pensions to provide practical support and guidance on the day of release. Your work will make a direct difference – from helping someone set up their benefits claim, to ensuring they leave with clothing, food and information about where to access further support. It is a varied and active role where no two days are the same. Key Responsibilities Support external staff and agencies to process benefit claims and other services. Provide essentials such as clothing, food, toiletries and onward travel information. a safe, clean and welcoming release area. Liaise with departments and the resettlement team to coordinate smooth release processes. Promote available support and gather feedback to improve services. What You’ll Need GCSEs (Grade 4 or above) in Maths and English. Leadership and Management qualification. Experience of delivering programmes in challenging environments and managing staff. Strong organisational, IT and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting demands and collaborate effectively. What We Offer Competitive salary with annual reviews.
