Learning Development Officer – Housing and Communities Training Team
The role is to provide comprehensive training and development interventions to empower the Housing and Communities workforce to deliver exceptional, customer‑focused service. This includes designing, developing, delivering and evaluating a variety of in‑house courses, identifying and sourcing external training to meet specific professional or health and safety requirements (e.g. Housing Maintenance and Construction, Housing Legislation), and supporting the ongoing implementation of the Social Housing (Regulation) Act requirements, including the Competence and Conduct Standard and the professionalism agenda across Housing Services.

Salary: £35,412 – £38,220 (Grade 8)
Location: 3 St James’s Road, Dudley, DY1 1HZ
Qualifications and experience
* Ability to design, develop and facilitate a range of CPD workshops, events and blended learning solutions to meet training needs in line with the Council’s strategic objectives, including training that supports compliance with the Competence and Conduct Standard, professional practice, ethical behaviours and continual professional development within Housing Services, and to support staff across the Housing and Assets Group.
* Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the Social Housing regulatory framework, including the Competence and Conduct Standard, and the importance of professionalism, skills, behaviours and continuous learning in delivering high‑quality housing services.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Excellent facilitating, coaching, and influencing skills to train, guide and advise colleagues across the organisation.
* A clear thinker with a creative and innovative solution‑focused approach, capable of working with all levels of staff.
Benefits
