Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join NHS Lothian’s Supplementary Staffing Team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will manage and control service resources, achieve business performance objectives within quality standards, and contribute to the corporate management of the service through the Corporate Management Team supporting efficient and effective delivery of the service and efficiency savings.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and operational and performance management to the Supplementary Staffing Managers for Nursing, Midwifery and all other AfC staff groups, including Medical Locums, enabling opportunities for service improvement within budget and targets.
* Deputise for the General Manager, ensuring a consistent and coordinated approach to the management of the service and external relationships.
* Work autonomously within the parameters set for the post, prioritising workload and ensuring delivery of an effective and efficient service.
Qualifications
* Evidence of managing multiple services at a senior level, with a demonstrable track record of success in operational service management within a complex clinical multi‑disciplinary environment, preferably in the NHS.
* Registered clinician or hold a first level business degree; educated to SCQF level 11 (e.g., Masters qualification in leadership/management) or equivalent operational experience.
* Experience of service planning, performance monitoring, budgetary and people management.
* Evidence of leading and implementing service redesign and change, which relates to improved staff and patient experience and outcomes and achieves efficient and effective use of services.
* Significant experience of people management, detailed knowledge of HR policies, processes and workflows.
