Little boy aged 7 from Llandovery requires a mentor/Personal Assistant for socialisation only for 8 hours per week.
This lively little boy has a diagnosis of Autism with PDA profile, ADHD, and Dystonia. He also has a learning impairment but is in mainstream school. He is very vulnerable and will require constant supervision, specifically around roads, moving vehicles, water, and hazards.
He loves being out and about at play parks, the beach, and generally outdoors. He also enjoys playing his Playstation.
The successful PA will be expected to be a mentor to this little boy, supporting him with learning living skills, confidence, social skills and independence.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.
* Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community.
* Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest.
* Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills.
* Providing companionship in the employer's home, including engaging in conversation with the employer and providing them with social interaction.
* Encouraging the employer to attend appointments.
* Ensuring the employer's safety at all times during your working hours.
* Carrying out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours.
* Ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act.
* Being mindful of safeguarding issues and reporting any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately at (01267 228751).
* Being responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.
Relationships & Communication
* Ability to develop a supportive and caring relationship with the employer.
* To undertake all duties in a friendly and helpful manner.
* Able to contact people on behalf of the employer when necessary.
Working Environment
Working in the employer's home and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.

* Able to develop long‑term supportive and consistent relationships with employers.
* A full, clean driving licence. Use of a car is likely to be required, depending on the needs of the employer and whether you live within walking distance.
* Must have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
* Prepared to undergo training to best meet the employer's needs.
