The Operations Team is responsible for the safe and efficient use of 130 minibuses used to transport people in North Yorkshire. They are a team of over 300 drivers and passenger assistants that operate at locations throughout North Yorkshire. The team delivers approximately 250,000 passenger journeys per year including 25,000 wheelchair user journeys. The Role The transport provided enables people to access schools, day centres, learning opportunities, supported employment and other meaningful activities in our community. You will be responsible for the safety of passengers during these journeys and will ensure that the passengers board and alight safely as well as ensuring that any safety equipment is used correctly. Skills and Experience Full training in the use of all safety equipment will be provided. You will need good communication skills as you will liaise daily with the passengers, carers, establishment staff and colleagues. Experience is not essential, however, some experience of driving minibus type vehicles or working in a similar role would be an advantage for this post.
