About the Role
As a Senior P&C Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and managing risk for commercial insurance policies. You will be responsible for evaluating applications, determining coverage terms, and ensuring profitability while maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and underwrite complex P&C insurance risks in accordance with company guidelines.
* Conduct detailed risk analysis and pricing evaluations to ensure profitability.
* Negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
* Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market conditions.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including claims and actuarial departments, to optimize underwriting strategies.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters.
* Ensure compliance with underwriting policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in P&C underwriting, preferably in a senior role.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Knowledge of UK insurance regulations and market trends.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., CII, ACII) are desirable.
