We are excited to be recruiting for a Motor Vehicle Quality Checker. This is an unrivalled opportunity to join one of the UK’s fastest growing motor groups.
As a Motor Vehicle Quality Checker, you will be responsible for ensuring all vehicle repairs and servicing are completed to the highest standard before handover to the customer. This role is critical in improving overall workshop quality, reducing repeat repairs (“return to workshop”), and supporting continuous improvement through technician coaching and quality monitoring.
Representing a variety of manufacturers and handling a diverse range of vehicles and models, you will take great pride in your work, helping us to deliver exceptional customer experiences and setting an unrivalled standard for the industry, all whilst contributing towards making Stoneacre the Number One Motor Group.

An average day as a Motor Vehicle Quality Checker…
13. Conducting final quality checks on all completed vehicles prior to customer handover
14. Verify all work has been completed in line with manufacturer standards, dealership process, and job card instructions
15. Ensure vehicles are clean, safe and fully operational before release
16. Confirm that all faults raised have been correctly diagnoses and rectified
17. Identify and address defects or incomplete work before the vehicle leaves site
18. Take ownership of “return to workshop” cases
19. Investigate repeat repairs and work with the workshop team to resolve root causes
20. Provide constructive feedback to technicians on workmanship and quality standards
21. Support the development of technicians through on-the-job coaching and guidance
22. Work closely with the Workshop Controller to address performance or quality concerns
23. Maintain accurate records of quality inspections carried out
24. Log defects, trends, and repeat issues to identify patterns within the workshop
25. Produce regular feedback to the Service Manager on quality performance
26. Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer, warranty and safety standards
27. Support compliance with MOT and roadworthiness requirements
28. Promote a culture of “right first time” across the workshop
About you…
29. Proven experience as a vehicle technician within a main dealer or independent workshop
30. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
31. High attention to detail and commitment to quality
32. Ability to challenge and influence technicians in a constructive manner
33. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
34. Good organisational and record-keeping ability
35. You will thrive working in a challenging yet rewarding environment with the ability to work well under pressure.
36. You will be consumer and market focused.
37. You will be business and commercially driven with demonstrable expertise in the automotive sector.
38. Hold a current and valid MOT tester licence
39. Hold a full UK driving licence.
