Your Role:
As the Garden Centre Manager, youll oversee the day to day running of the garden centre department, responsible for discovering fresh trends and themes staying ahead of the curve and securing merchandise at the correct price point by utilising existing suppliers and in addition, sourcing new suppliers where necessary.You will be confident in your ordering of seasonal plants, but the role also requires you to oversee the ordering of gardening supplies and consumables as well as decorative giftware making sure smart commercial decisions are made to drive sales ensuring wastage is kept to an absolute minimum. You will be able to demonstrate a flare for displaying merchandise to maximise sales opportunities and lead from the front portraying a can-do approach exceling in customer service.
Managing 3 4staff members, this is a great opportunity for a Plant Area Manager looking to step up to manage the garden centre section working alongside a team of other departmental managers of an established and well-respected independent Garden Centre, Tea Rooms and Farm Shop. Please note that this is a physically demanding role and work involves inside and outside duties in all weathers.
We Are Looking For:
In depth plant knowledge and experienced horticultural professional
An individual who has worked in the garden centre industry
Proficient in IT
Commercially minded being able to analyse data for stock control purposes
Keen eye for detail and a flare for creating imaginative displays for products ensuring the department is well always merchandised.
Continually looking at ways to improve business performance within your department
Leadership style to be hands on with ability to guide and manage a small team with a record of meeting targets you will be career focused and self-motivated to obtain the best from your staff
