Accounts Payable Manager

Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the full purchase ledger process, manage supplier relationships, and ensure financial compliance. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on accuracy, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the purchase ledger: raise purchase orders, process invoices, verify delivery notes, and oversee payment authorisations
* Oversee employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations
* Support project billing by exporting data and liaising with project teams
* Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accurate coding of transactions
* Maintain supplier records, assess credentials, and support compliance evaluations
* Continuously review and improve finance processes and procedures
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounts payable role, ideally in a multi-currency environment
* Strong working knowledge of SAGE, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Confident communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
Desirable
* Further education in Finance or Business (A Levels, NVQ, BTEC)
* Previous experience in a similar managerial or senior AP role
* Experience working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
