Itchen Sixth Form College is looking to employ a permanent, part-time cleaner as per the hours outlined below. The ideal candidate will need to have excellent attention to detail and be able to work both as part of a team as well as independently at times, using their own initiative. Previous cleaning experience within an educational environment would be advantageous but not essential. The ability to move light furniture is required.
· 16.5 hrs per week (Monday to Thursday 16:00 – 19:30, Friday 16:00 to 18:30).
· 43 weeks per year- (term time plus additional 4 weeks during the holidays)
· SCP 3, currently £12.83 p/h

Key Responsibilities
To undertake all aspects of day-to-day cleaning in order to provide a high standard of cleanliness throughout the College.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
· Cleaning duties as directed by the Estates Manager, Senior Site Manager and Cleaning Supervisor
· Moving light furniture (e.g. tables chairs etc.)
· Tidy and dust offices/classrooms/Sport and Social areas/Corridors
· Vacuum floors
· Clean toilets and hand basins
· Empty the bins and dispose of all rubbish hygienically
· To undertake any other cleaning duties as may be required due to extra functions
· To operate light machinery (buffing machines, dishwashers)
· To undertake other cleaning duties as directed by the Estates Manager, Senior Estates Supervisor and Cleaning Supervisor
· To promote and support the safeguarding and welfare of children and vulnerable adults you come into contact with and participate in safeguarding training.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Able to move light furniture. Attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to work alone at times and use initiative operate light machinery (buffing machines, dishwashers). Punctual and reliable. Able to prioritise work Take pride in a job well done. Able to communicate clearly, understand and follow instructions Commitment to the safeguarding of children and young people.
Experience of relevant Health & Safety Knowledge (COSH) is desirable but not essential.
