School Nurse Position
Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to work in a rewarding school environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a School Nurse to join our dedicated Medical Centre team and play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our school community.
Responsibilities
As a School Nurse, you will provide a high standard of nursing care to pupils, staff and visitors, responding to both routine and urgent medical needs. You will deliver immediate care for illness and injuries, including sports‑related incidents, and support students with health‑related needs through effective care planning and collaboration with parents and colleagues.
You will run nurse‑led drop‑in clinics, respond to emergencies across the School estate, and contribute to health education initiatives. The role also includes maintaining accurate medical records, supporting medical examinations and vaccinations, and ensuring compliance with clinical and safeguarding standards.
This role is term‑time only for 4 days per week. The hours of work are 8:15 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday (on a rota basis). We welcome applications from candidates interested in a job share arrangement.
Requirements
The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references and other checks. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self‑declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
