We are seeking a passionate and proactive Regional Food Service Dietitian to support our acute and mental healthcare facilities across the UK.
This is a key role for a registered dietitian who is enthusiastic about improving patient nutrition, enhancing service standards, and driving excellence in healthcare catering.
Job Description
You’ll act as the vital link between our catering teams, Trust dietitians, and ISS management, ensuring that all food and drink services meet the highest nutritional, safety, and quality standards.
This role offers the opportunity to influence menu planning, lead on national food standards compliance, and make a real difference to patient wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all patient catering services meet nutritional and dietary specifications in line with national healthcare standards.
* Liaise regularly with on-site catering teams to maintain clear communication on updates, developments, and projects.
* Collaborate closely with Trust dietitians, catering leads, and ISS management on all dietetic and food service matters.
* Lead the planning and review of acute, mental health, and special diet menus in collaboration with the central Dietetics team.
* Manage seasonal menu reviews, including tastings, nutritional analysis, coding, and supplier communications.
* Ensure compliance with The National Standards for Healthcare Food and Drink and The Nutrition and Hydration Digest.
* Oversee updates to the Saffron system and coordinate with design and print teams for menu production.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Degree in Dietetics or a relevant degree with a postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics.
* HCPC Registered Dietitian.
* Experience within foodservice or catering environments, ideally in healthcare.
* Familiarity with the operational and nutritional challenges of healthcare food services.
* Strong understanding of diverse cultural food preferences and dietary requirements.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites and priorities.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
