This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced radiographer to join our team at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals. The position is open to those already fully or part trained in plain film reporting, as well as those requiring training. The role involves reporting for Chest, Abdomen, and MSK plain film imaging.
The post holder should demonstrate innovation and passion for delivering quality service. They must be dynamic in adapting to the changing demands on our services and support the development of the skillset within the advanced practice and radiology teams.
Please note that this post may include working across multiple sites.
SaTH has state-of-the-art imaging equipment installed in 2020, including dedicated reporting hubs and facilities.
The post holder must have extensive post-qualification experience, including work in an NHS hospital, and hold a current visa to work in the UK.
If the post holder is to commence training with SaTH and is not already an advanced practitioner, they will be employed under a training contract. Please see the separate PS document for further details.
Main duties of the job
* The primary purpose of the role is to carry out general modality imaging reporting in a supervised capacity until fully autonomous practice is achieved.
* Train to interpret and report images using highly specialized knowledge of pathology and differential diagnoses for MSK, chest, and abdomen imaging.
* Provide high-quality, comprehensive reports.
* Maintain general modality imaging skills and competencies, including other areas of clinical expertise.
* Independently prioritize patient cases and organize workload from various referral pathways to meet service needs.
* Provide practical training, supervision, and assessment for undergraduates, postgraduates, and radiology registrars in training.
* Participate in research, audit, and continuous professional development (CPD).
* Actively participate in organizing CPD lectures.
* Participate in the Radiology 7-day rota.
* Promote best practices, education, and standards delivery.

All radiographers with more than one year of postgraduate experience contribute to training and mentoring students, supported by an excellent on-site teaching environment. Our department is committed to role extension, with radiographers undertaking Ultrasound, Barium Swallows, CT Colonoscopies, and plain film reporting.
We are dedicated to developing our teams, including extending into advanced practice under the guidance of our Consultant Radiographer, aiming to provide high-quality imaging for our patients.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
* Current HCPC registration
* Postgraduate Certificate in Image Reporting
* Undergraduate BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
Experience
* Demonstrated competence in Image Reporting (Audit)
* Knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017
* Understanding of IRR17 Regulations
* Experience in leadership roles
