Principal Accountabilities
The primary responsibility of the Controller is to operate the Control Room electronic security systems, responding to emergencies and to provide quality information to the security staff and Client.
* Maintain daily liaison with the Duty Shift Leader, or nominated representative ensuring all relevant information is brought to his / her attention.
* Be responsible for all relevant security daily paper work to include, filing, auditing and archiving.
* The Controller is responsible for coordinating all emergencies from the Control Room, ensuring all relevant information are escalated to the appropriate personnel immediately.
* The Controller will also act as the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) incident manager by coordinating, analyzing, escalating and compiling reports for all stake holder involve.
* All security and non-security systems checks are to be carried out by the Controller and any faults are to be reported following the correct procedure as laid out in the Assignment Instructions.
* To monitor CCTV, report and log all incidents.
* Record and report to the Duty Shift Leader all faults, health and safety hazards / concerns and unsafe working practices reported to the Control Room.
* The Controller will ensure that proper DOB entries are maintained at all times.
* Ensure that an adequate Handover takes place between shifts ensuring all keys, equipment and relevant information / documentation are accounted for.
* Enforce strict access control procedures ensuring only authorised personnel are permitted to enter the Control Room or restricted areas.
* Carry out all reasonable Management requests.
* Ensure, via Supervisory Staff, appropriate motivation, development and training of staff to meet contractual needs and individual needs where required.
* Ensure all staff carry out their duties in accordance with procedures and policies.
* Ensure all employees are trained to the required standard and subject to regular effective performance monitoring. Providing coaching and development or recommending dismissal on capability grounds if appropriate.
* Control use of radios, pagers, patrol recorders and other equipment, ensuring regular audits are carried out.
* Ensure lawful, safe, efficient and economical use and recording of all supplies and consumables.
* Ensure accurate records are maintained of all equipment including alarm systems, monitoring and recording devices, reported as defective and ensure appropriate and timely response and repair of equipment.
* Provide accurate and timely information for the preparation of reports and planning.
* Ensure provision of adequate information for proper personnel administration of employees.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience of operating at controller level
* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
* Effective decision making
* Strong people management and leadership skills
* Effective time management & organizational skills
* Good working knowledge of security and fire systems
* Ability to use all Microsoft products and be able to create spreadsheets and managing data
* Previous experience of conducting audits and preparing client reports
* Excellent knowledge of GDPR and the use of personal data
