What you’ll be doing
as a Strategic Field Technician:
1. Required to take ownership of Network Upgrade projects, supporting team members within the group and provide cover for projects during leave.
2. You will be contracted to support across the whole Thames Water operational strategic Asset area when business needs require.
3. Support network activities during asset failures whilst ensuring water quality compliance during work.
4. Minimise and prevent supply interruption, liaising with customers and working to resolve problems where necessary to ensure service is delivered efficiently.
5. Develop and enhance working relationships with other teams across the clean water business.
6. Support the Network Asset Maintenance within the whole TW estate during Network Events, where required and support to meet business targets.
7. Act as local network expert for isolation and rezoning, providing information for risk assessments & sharing information regarding network risks and other Health & Safety issues.
8. Responsible for investigating the clean water network to resolve poor asset performance, including high or low pressure, leakage, metering queries and Interruption of supply.
What should you bring to the role?
9. Good knowledge of the processes of water networks is desirable.
10. Understands and can demonstrate best practice regarding the Water Network Standards.
11. Relevant water network knowledge/experience is highly desirable to ensure that Permit to works, mains isolation packs and guided method of works for respective network operations are understood and implemented as per process.
12. Ability to work under your own initiative to deliver specified work streams within SLAs.
13. Ability to manage overtime usage on a controlled, reportable and fair basis.
14. Competent at using appropriate company IT Systems and office-based software, with preferred experience in GIS, Z-One, Sample Manager, MS Teams.
15. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
16. High level of attention to detail.
