Overview
Locum Paediatric Consultant with Neonatal Interest role based in Grimsby. The post is a 6-month full-time Locum position within Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) at DPOW, Scartho Road, Grimsby.
Responsibilities
* The post would suit a good team player dedicated to high quality patient care in a busy District General Hospital. The Neonatal Lead for the team at Grimsby will be responsible for the development of the Neonatal Services and introduction of new management techniques.
* Provide non-hierarchical leadership to junior doctors and medical students; participate in consultant-led ward rounds and occasionally lead ward rounds.
* Attend clinics to maintain high standards of clinical service and care; undertake administrative duties for efficient service operation.
* Deputise for absent colleagues as appropriate; undertake additional duties in occasional emergencies and for continuity of patient care.
* Attend regular Multi-Disciplinary Audit Meetings; opportunities for research under guidance of consultants; encourage skill-based courses.
* Contribute to teaching of nurse practitioners, junior doctors, nursing staff and medical students from local medical schools.

Essential qualifications
* Full GMC Registration, Licence to Practice
* Training acceptable to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health for appointment to Consultant Status
Desirable qualifications
* Higher Degree
* Entry on Specialist Register via CCT, CESR or UK equivalent
Experience and attainments
* Specific training in Neonates (12 months including tertiary NNU, neonatal transport and/or Paediatric Intensive Care)
* Ability to deliver the service without direct supervision; experience of DGH work
* Level 3 safeguarding training; APLS and NLS providers
Skills and knowledge
* Leadership and organisational skills; ability to manage priorities
* Clinical governance awareness; knowledge of current developments in the specialty
* Experience in clinical audit and teaching
