Job Overview
The successful candidate will assume a direct clinical role within the department, sharing all facilities with the existing consultants. This is a full-time fixed term post (11 PAs) for a General Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Medical retinal diseases/Uveitis. The appointee will join 32 Consultant Ophthalmologist posts already established and will work 11 PAs per week, including an 8 DCC and 2 SPA split (flexible working may be considered) with additional activities to be discussed. It is expected that the successful applicant will play an active role in the consultant on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
* Provide theatre cover as below.
* Provide an Ophthalmic service in accordance with the agreed timetable and subsequent job plan.
* Provide trust-wide 1 in 10 on-call cover.
* Supervise trainee staff within the Trust.

Qualifications and Training
