Job description
We have an opportunity for a Senior CFD Engineer to join the team at the new Silverstone facility. In this role, you will work within a group of multi-disciplined engineers responsible for developing tools, applications, methods, and workflows that provide capability across the team’s aerodynamics department, forming part of the critical CFD pipeline required to develop the team’s race cars. What you will be doing
* Develop the CFD methodology and process to continuously improve predictive accuracy and efficiency.
* Collaborate with aerodynamicists and CFD engineers to deliver a fit-for-purpose CFD process responsive to development needs.
* Deliver robust, observable, testable, and performant processes.
* Assist the lead in ensuring CFD simulations and analyses align with tool capabilities.
* Optimize, maintain, and support existing and new toolkits.
* Contribute across multiple disciplines within the CFD group, including process, external/internal flows, thermal modeling, and pipeline development.
* Work with software engineers to translate engineering codes into robust applications.
* Discover and develop new technologies applicable to CFD.
* Support day-to-day activities of the CFD group.
* Provide support to CFD process users.
* Mentor junior team members.
Requirements
* A degree in Aerospace, Motorsport Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, ideally within motorsport.
* Strong knowledge of fluid physics, numerical methods, and turbulence modeling.
* Programming experience in C++, Python, Java, or VBA, and familiarity with STAR-CCM+ and open-source CFD codes.
* Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently.
* Effective team management and leadership capabilities.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
