Location: South Wales (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum

Hoop Recruitment is proud to be supporting a highly regarded and well-established organisation based in South Wales in the search for an experienced Employee Relations & Policy Manager.

The Employee Relations & Policy Manager will lead a team of HR professionals, taking full ownership of the organisation’s employee relations function and HR policy framework. You will play a key role in shaping organisational culture, maintaining strong union relationships, and ensuring continued compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, support, and develop a high-performing HR team
Own and oversee all HR policy development, implementation, and governance
Manage a high-volume employee relations caseload with expert guidance and oversight
Identify and mitigate ER risks, supporting a positive organisational culture
Review, update, and implement HR policies in line with current legislation and best practice
Deliver training and guidance to ensure consistent application of policies across the business
Monitor ER trends and identify areas for improvement
Maintain constructive and professional relationships with recognised trade unions
Build and sustain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders across all levels
Contribute to the wider people strategy and long-term organisational goals
Essential Experience & Skills
Strong and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation
Proven experience managing HR teams and/or leading complex ER casework
A demonstrable background in HR policy development and implementation
Experience working within a unionised environment
Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and a high-volume workload with resilience and flexibility
Qualifications
CIPD qualification or equivalent HR-related credentials (Level 5 or above preferred)
