Dementia Assessment Service (South) Team Leader
The Dementia Assessment Team Leader is responsible for providing clinical leadership and operational management to the Dementia Assessment Service. The post holder ensures the delivery of high quality, safe and timely dementia assessment and diagnostic pathways, in line with Trust objectives and NHSE Mental Health performance expectations.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and operational management to ensure safe, timely delivery of assessment and diagnostic pathways in line with Trust objectives and NHSE Mental Health performance expectations.
* Lead a multidisciplinary team, responsible for supervision, professional support, induction, appraisal, mandatory training and workforce management.
* Oversee referral triage, demand and capacity management, waiting list monitoring and patient flow prioritisation.
* Make complex and high risk clinical decisions, manage safeguarding and escalation processes.
* Maintain governance and quality activities including incidents, safeguarding, complaints and service improvement action.
* Collaborate with Service Manager, internal and external partners to support integrated working, continuity of care and delivery of Trust priorities.
Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualification.
* Evidence of CPD and post basic courses or relevant study days.
Knowledge & Experience
* Significant experience of and demonstrable achievement in clinical practice.
* Experience of providing professional support, supervision and motivation of staff.
* Understanding of Health and Social Care governance.
* Experience of managing staff.
