Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse Ward 3B

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 3B for two Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse full‑time positions. The shift pattern for this post will be rotational, dayshift and night shift over 7 days.
The successful candidate should be a registered nurse at degree level (or working towards this) and have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience within an acute paediatric setting. You should demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with the MDT team and have responsibility for assessment of care needs and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality care to patients.
In the absence of the ward manager you would have the continuing responsibility for the management of a ward area, including supervision and deployment of staff and maintaining the flow of patients through the department.
You will be expected to frequently participate in ward co‑ordination, assist in the management of nurse staffing, bed management issues and incident reporting, and communicate changes to the hospital clinical co‑ordinator. Assist the Ward Manager in the management of sickness leave, annual leave, staff support, staff appraisals and compiling of duty rotas.
