PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY VELINDRE CANCER CENTRE

This post is fixed term/secondment for 6 months due to project work.

If you are interested applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Band 7 Treatment Radiographer (6-Month Secondment)

An exciting 6-month secondment opportunity has arisen within the Brachytherapy Treatment Team at Velindre Cancer Centre, supporting the implementation of Bravos Brachytherapy Treatments and the transition to paperless clinical pathways.

The successful candidate will play a key role in a large-scale change management programme, contributing to the development of new Brachytherapy workflows, alongside the continuation of DXR workflow optimisation.

We are seeking applications from dynamic and motivated radiographers who are currently working at Band 6 or above. Please see the attached job description for the essential and desirable criteria. Experience working across all areas of radiotherapy, including Brachytherapy and DXR, is required.

We are looking for an individual who demonstrates high standards of patient-centred care in a challenging environment. You should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving service. A strong commitment to the implementation programme is essential, along with an understanding of the importance of meeting agreed milestones.

The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary team members and so excellent communication skills are essential to support effective workflow implementation and high-quality training. As with all project-based work, attention to detail and adherence to documentation, governance and quality assurance processes are critical.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the existing Brachytherapy/DXR and IRS teams to develop and deliver the highest quality treatments for our patients. In addition to clinical and administrative duties within the current Brachytherapy and DXR services, the role will have a strong project focus, contributing to the implementation of several key service developments.

These responsibilities include:

* Bravos workflow implementation
* Paperless workflow implementation, including system configuration
* Testing and validation
* Development of training plans
* Delivery of training and competency assessment
* Documentation development
* Risk and impact assessments
* Audit and service review activities
* Contribution to DXR paperless workflow improvements (including remote access, DICOM workflows, testing and training).

By the end of the secondment, the successful candidate will have gained valuable experience contributing to a large-scale change management project, alongside achieving competencies in the new Brachytherapy workflows.
