Thank you for your interest in the position of Social Work Assistant within Older People Social Work Service, part of Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.

The role focuses on undertaking assessments and working with older adults in the community. This post involves travelling to meet people, their families and carers, understand their needs, and develop support plans that make a real difference. You will work independently and as part of a supportive team including registered social workers.

The Person
If you are passionate about public service and enjoy challenges, this role offers a great opportunity to develop your potential. We are looking for someone who:
1. Has experience of working with adults and older adults.
2. Is motivated with good values and a genuine interest in providing a quality care and support service to service users
3. Has excellent communication skills.
4. Demonstrates an ability to build effective working relationships with staff, service users and their families.
5. Can work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service.
6. Has effective time management skills
7. Is committed to ensuring that service users are central to decision-making about their support.
8. Possesses a relevant qualification such as SVQ 3/HNC or equivalent (desirable).
9. Has experience in community-based support and multi-disciplinary working with health, social care, and voluntary agencies (desirable).
10. Ability to travel throughout Fife is required
Before confirming your appointment, you will need to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme.
