We are recruiting an Engineering Manager to lead technical operations across two high‑profile sites – four days per week in South London and one day in Southwest / West London. Ideal candidates should be commuting comfortably to both sites.
This role is suited strictly to candidates coming from critical environments such as data centres, banking, trading floors, or high‑security mission‑critical 24/7 infrastructure. You will be responsible for both strategic oversight and hands‑on supervision of HV/LV systems, UPS, BMS, and business‑critical plant, overseeing some projects via specialist subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage engineering teams in collaboration with other contract managers, technical managers, and engineering supervisors, covering both day staff and shift engineers.
* Oversee PPM, reactive works, and fault escalation across all critical electrical and mechanical services.
* Take full operational control of HV/LV infrastructure, UPS and BMS systems.
* Coordinate contractors and subcontractors, ensuring safety, compliance, and performance standards are maintained.
* Produce engineering reports, load assessments, site audits, and ensure accurate logbooks and documentation.
* Maintain O&M manuals, risk assessments, CEWA permits, and contingency procedures.
* Support project works, shutdowns, and upgrades as required.
* Manage customer relationships.
* Attend high‑voltage shutdowns, weekend interventions, and project activity across both sites with required flexibility at short notice.
Candidate Profile
* Must have proven experience in critical environments – data centre or financial services infrastructure is essential.
* Strong people manager, capable of leading and developing engineering teams.

* HV authorised person (or able to step into the role quickly).
* Highly organised, calm under pressure, and confident in decision‑making and escalation.
* Computer literate with excellent communication and reporting ability.
