Overview
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home. This role is central to delivering outstanding care and achieving the best outcomes for young people with emotional and behavioural needs, learning disabilities and/or sensory needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strong, hands-on leadership ensuring the home meets the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
* Safeguard children by acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensuring all staff understand and follow child protection protocols.
* Manage and mentor a team to provide safe, nurturing, and person-centred care.
* Oversee staff recruitment, supervision, rotas, training and performance management.
* Maintain compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies.
* Promote a culture of high standards, continuous improvement, and reflective practice.
* Build strong working relationships with professionals, families, and external agencies.
* Ensure occupancy and budgetary targets are met while maintaining high standards of care.
* Monitor and improve the physical environment and administrative systems of the home.
Essential Criteria
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children & Young People’s Residential Management) or working towards it.
* At least 2 years’ experience in a senior residential childcare role.
* In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and relevant legislation.
* Proven ability to manage and develop teams.
* Full UK driving licence and Enhanced DBS.
