We are looking for Summer Students to assist our Three Waters unit with a variety of tasks that will benefit Christchurch City Council, the student, and the community, during the 2025/2026 university summer break.
The tasks are mainly focused on the water and wastewater maintenance contracts and asset assessments. Depending on your skill set you could be:
* Preparing all existing Three Waters stock, particularly pump stock items, to handover to incoming maintenance contractors
* Arranging testing, repairs, and rationalisation
* Extracting and amalgamating key pump station documents, particularly Operations and Maintenance manuals into a catalogue for the incoming maintenance contractor.
* Condition assessment for waterways lining in the Asset Planning team through field data collection.
* Checking and QA of all data collected within corporate data sources to confirm accuracy.
* Working on reporting tools to provide data interrogation.
* Undertaking ad hoc project work within the team
We are looking for someone who:
* Is undertaking tertiary level studies in engineering, science, ecology, management systems or similar
* Has experience in producing reports with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Brings with them strong problem-solving skills and initiative
* Can work both in groups and independently
* Most importantly, has a positive attitude and willingness to learn

* Salary - The hourly rate for this role is $30.98 per hour
