Norman Broadbent Plc, a leader in executive search, is delighted to be partnering with enfinium, a leading energy from waste business. Having previously placed executive team members, Norman Broadbent is now supporting enfinium on the appointment of a Group Electrical Engineering Lead.


JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Group Head of Asset Management (GHAM), the Group Electrical Engineering Lead is accountable for the health and integrity of all enfinium Operating Assets. Providing leadership, strategic direction, oversight, and engineering support to enfinium whilst maximizing the generation of clean, renewable energy.

This role will work closely with the Group Head of Asset Management and the wider Engineering team, with primary focus and overall responsibility and accountability for the operational electrical assets across enfinium, as well as providing electrical engineering expertise to new investment projects across the portfolio. Responsible for the overall electrical strategies, bringing new technologies and mitigating risk in the current systems, this role is crucial to delivering the vision of best-in-class asset performance.

Working alongside senior internal and external stakeholders (including 3rd-party suppliers), this role is to provide high quality electrical engineering specialism, leadership and support services. The role is responsible for leading, managing, and/or performing work across multiple engineering areas of enfinium.

Given that the candidate will have a remit across all of the plants, the role is not tied to a specific location but will require regular travel to the various plants and sometimes to the head office in London.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide technical leadership and support to enfinium’s assets, providing a centre of expertise to the business.
* Performance-manage electrical engineering delivery and responsible for the electrical competencies of the organisation.
* Define technical scopes of work for study, verifying quality and accuracy of study deliverables and delivery contractors within the electrical discipline. Recommending technical solutions, lead in engineering studies, support risk assessments and implementation.
* Provide technical leadership across enfinium, bringing good practices and developing electrical maintenance strategies, policies and procedures.
* Accountable for enfinium’s power system concept design, grid assessment, grid stability and grid code compliance.
* Deliver safe and efficient engineering of the Electrical System Infrastructure to achieve best in class reliability and engineering excellence of the operating assets. Also ensure safe installation and commissioning of new assets, whilst ensuring all learning and reliability issues are embedded in the design of these assets.
* Liaise with and provide the technical interface management with Transmission System Owner, Turbine and Balance of Plant suppliers.
* Ensure risk management, change management and knowledge management is consistent and of a high standard throughout enfinium operating assets, ensuring learning is shared widely and adopted throughout the business.
* Optimise and evaluate the Electrical Transmission voltage selection and loss estimate and advises accordingly
* Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritized and demonstrates safety and functional leadership.
* Responsible for assessing Turbine health and integrity. Providing recommendations and reports to the Plant Managers and supporting the work required to ensure full optimisation.
* Act as a Technical Authority, responsible for the development of producing company documentation including design basis, functional specifications, engineering codes and standards, and procurement packages.
* Disseminate technical knowledge and deliver technical expertise, in support of the business and including working on new emerging technologies and plant like Carbon capture and hydrogen production facilities


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


* Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant Electrical engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
* Chartered Member of an industry related Professional Body.
* Recent, relevant experience of performing as Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer.
* Experience of working in the Power Generation sector preferred, with a specific emphasis on supporting operational assets.
* Experience with electrical power systems.
* Experience with public electrical grid connections and/or power transmission systems.
* Experience of projects (pre-FEED/FEED/detailed design, construction, installation and operations support.)
* Understanding of the interfaces and interaction with supporting engineering disciplines Competencies.
* Knowledge and experience of hazardous area classification and management of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
* Knowledge of Control system interface requirements to electrical systems.
* Experience of collaborating closely with Operations personnel.
* Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements.
* Credibility with senior management and Operational teams.
* Proven project management and supplier experience.
