Hours: 33.67 hours per week, Term Time only - 39 weeks per year
Salary: Grade 5 £22791 - £24842 + Sen Allowance pro rata
The role of the Learning Facilitator is key to the success of our school. Working closely under the guidance of teaching staff you will work with individuals and groups of pupils in or out of the classroom, providing detailed and specialist skills/knowledge in particular areas.
As a Learning Facilitator, you will assist the teacher in the whole planning cycle and supervise whole classes or groups during short-term absences of a teacher. The role supports pupils to strive for success, overcome personal challenges, and achieve their potential. It is challenging, hard work, and immensely rewarding.
Responsibilities
* Support teaching staff in planning and delivery for individuals and groups of pupils.
* Supervise classes or groups during short-term teacher absences.
* Provide specialist skills and knowledge as relevant to the role and school needs.
Key Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
* Other relevant qualifications, e.g., Level 3 Award/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
* Very good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Training and accreditation in relevant specialist areas beneficial to the school (e.g., science, maths, bi-lingual, SEND, behaviour).
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
* Working knowledge of the national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies.
* Understanding of the principles of child development and learning processes.
* Experience of supporting teaching staff in the development and education of pupils, including provision of specialist skills.
