Details
1x Agency Social Worker to cover maternity leave in the Multi Agency Request for Support Hub (MASH) and is central to triaging requests for support for children and their families in Blackpool.
The primary task of social workers within the Request for Support Hub is to provide advice, support and triage/screen requests for support and phone calls to children services. It is their “one front door” to Children’s Social Care and is designed to ensure that referrals are signposted to the appropriate service in line with the Levels of Need. As an experienced social worker you will have a good understanding of the application of thresholds and will demonstrate excellent skills and confidence in liaising with partner agencies. This post does not involve case holding.
Responsibilities
* Triaging requests for support and screening referrals for children services.
* Provide advice and information to ensure appropriate signposting to the correct service according to Levels of Need.
* liaise with partner agencies to coordinate responses and share information as appropriate.
* Maintain high standards of professionalism and service delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
* At least 2 years’ experience in statutory children’s social work
* Good understanding of safeguarding children processes
* Able to work in a fast paced environment
* Ability to write concise, fit for purpose reports/court statements and maintain up-to-date and accurate records
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Experience of inputting into children’s services data systems (Mosaic, ICS)
* Ability to be flexible, resilient and reflective
Client Requirements
* DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
* Social Work England registration
* Enhanced and in date DBS certificate
* Excellent communication skills and ability to make good decisions based on information available
* Ability to work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency setups
* Knowledge of service needs
* Competent IT skills and ability to navigate electronic file/recording systems
* Ability to write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files
* Flexible approach to work and working hours when needed
