A client within the Public Sector based in W est Yorkshire is currently recruiting for an Administrator to join their Taxi & Private Hire Licensing team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority customer service or licensing environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to provide a professional front-line service to the taxi and private hire trade, ensuring licence applications and renewals are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with statutory requirements and council policy. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Providing a face-to-face counter, telephone, and email service for applicants and the public, resolving most enquiries at first contact. Processing new and renewal applications for taxi and private hire driver and vehicle licences. Handling, processing, and balancing cash and cheque payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate financial records. Undertaking ID, right-to-work, and DBS checks in accordance with safeguarding and “fit and proper” guidelines. Maintaining accurate electronic records using Uniform / iDocs software and other council systems. Verifying personal documentation (e.g., passports, bank statements) in line with GDPR and data protection. Chasing outstanding information, following up with applicants, and ensuring timely completion of applications. Liaising with the Licensing Supervisor, Vehicle Examination, and Enforcement teams as required. Ensuring the highest standards of customer service and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information. The Candidate To be considered for this role, you will require: Strong administrative and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail. Experience working in a regulated or licensing environment (taxi, private hire, or similar desirable). Confident use of IT systems and ability to accurately input and retrieve data. The below skills would be beneficial for the role: Knowledge of Uniform or iDocs systems. Previous experience processing applications, verifying documents, or conducting DBS/right-to-work checks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a polite, customer-focused approach. Understanding of GDPR, confidentiality, and handling personal data securely. The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £15.66 per hour Umbrella (approx. £12.25 PAYE) Inside IR35.
