We’re supporting a global aerospace engineering organisation looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to join its advanced precision machining operation in Tewkesbury.
This is a role for someone who enjoys solving manufacturing problems, improving machining processes, and being heavily involved in the engineering side of production rather than sitting away from it.
The business manufactures complex aerospace components in a highly advanced machining environment using modern CNC technologies, sliding-head machining, and precision manufacturing processes.
You’ll work closely with machinists, programmers, quality teams, and production engineers supporting both New Product Introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement activities across the facility.
What You’ll Be Doing
Developing and optimising machining methods for complex aerospace components
Supporting sliding head machining processes and process improvement activities
Creating CNC manufacturing methods using CAD/CAM software
Supporting tooling selection, fixture design, and manufacturing documentation
Reviewing engineering drawings and supporting Design for Manufacture (DfM) improvements
Driving Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP activities
Working directly with production teams to resolve technical manufacturing challengesWhat We’re Looking For You’ll ideally have:
Manufacturing or Process Engineering experience within precision machining
Experience supporting CNC machining environments
Exposure to sliding head machining technologies (Star machines are advantageous)
CAD/CAM experience using software such as Siemens NX, Partmaker, FeatureCAM, or Vericut
Good understanding of GD&T and tight-tolerance manufacturing
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills and a practical engineering mindsetExperience within aerospace, defence, medical, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing sectors would be highly beneficial.
