Job overview

To assess, plan interventions and the service delivery of your own patient caseload and document in associated records within a clinical area, under the supervision/guidance of Senior Physiotherapists.

To participate in continuing professional and service development and contribute to organisational objectives.

Main duties of the job

To assess, plan interventions and the service delivery of your own patient caseload and document in associated records within a clinical area, under the supervision/guidance of Senior Physiotherapists.

To provide patient assessment, treatment, intervention and evaluation of outcome, of own patient caseload, within a clinical team or group setting.
To use professional knowledge to formulate problem list and subsequent treatment with goal plans and appropriate documentation in-line with departmental policy.
To assist Senior Physiotherapy Therapy staff in the development of new procedures and evidence based practice.
To follow advice and expertise of Senior Therapy staff to develop clinical skills and knowledge in managing own caseload.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential criteria

10. Current registration with Health Professions Council
11. Diploma /Degree in Physiotherapy

Desirable criteria

12. MCSP Membership

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria

13. Work experience within the NHS
14. Ability to work and interact effectively within an interdisciplinary team
15. Commitment to continuing professional development
16. Knowledge and application of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning
17. Comprehensive Student placements ( covering – Ortho, Neuro, Resp, Musculoskeletal,)
18. Establish and maintain CPD Portfolio

19. Participation in audit and research activities

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria

20. Awareness of limitations of own professional abilities
21. Clear, concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multi disciplinary team, patients and carers to ensure records and reports are accurate and in legible manner (in English)
22. Ability to integrate, participate and contribute as an effective member of a team
23. Ability to self direct towards the attainment of clear goals
24. Ability to prioritise tasks and functions against well reasoned standards.
25. Ability to plan, manage and organise required tasks within available resources (including time)
26. Use of and/or knowledge of POMR (Problem orientated medical records) record keeping
27. Knowledge of Current related legislation ( H&S, Data P. Act, etc)

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Essential criteria

28. Self motivated
29. Physical ability and endurance to work in the physical environment of the clinical area of all rotations within this post
30. Ability to participate in on call / weekend working rota
31. Car driver / owner able to travel to other locations within the trust

PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
