About Focus 360 Energy
Focus 360 Energy is a fast-growing, multidisciplinary consultancy providing end-to-end energy and compliance services across the UK development and construction sector. From early planning through to post-completion, we deliver the assessments that architects, planning consultants, and developers rely on to keep projects moving.
We specialise in:
• SAP & SBEM Assessments
• Energy Statements & Sustainability Statements
• TM59/TM52 Overheating (outsourced to our specialist partner)
• Daylight & Sunlight Modelling
• Whole Life-Cycle Carbon & Circular Economy
• Decarbonisation Strategy & Net Zero Planning
We work with architects, developers, housing associations and commercial estates nationwide — including portfolios such as Camden Market, MOD sites, Trident Group (900+ buildings), and major residential developers.
With continued growth and expansion of our planning and sustainability services, we are now looking to add a technically strong Sustainability & Energy Assessor to our team.
The Role
This role focuses on delivering high-quality SAP, SBEM, Energy Statements and related planning reports. You will support clients from early-stage feasibility through to construction and completion, ensuring smooth project delivery and clear technical guidance.
You will not be required to undertake IES/TM59 thermal modelling as a core part of the role — this is delivered through our external specialist partner. However, you will have opportunities to gain exposure to advanced modelling, IES-VE and wider sustainability analysis as part of long-term development.
This is the ideal role for someone who enjoys analytical work, problem-solving, and helping architects and developers navigate the complexities of Part L and planning compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce SAP and SBEM assessments and issue EPCs for domestic and non-domestic buildings
• Prepare high-quality Energy Statements and Sustainability Statements for planning submissions
• Review drawings, specifications and construction information for compliance with Part L
• Provide clear and concise technical advice to architects, developers, and design teams
• Collaborate with team members on planning reports and technical documentation
• Support delivery of daylight & sunlight analysis (training provided)
• Gain exposure to Whole Life-Cycle Carbon, Circular Economy and net-zero reporting
• Participate in internal QA, methodology development and continuous improvement
About You
You are technically strong, commercially aware, and keen to grow within a business that offers genuine career progression. You’re comfortable managing multiple projects and confident communicating recommendations to clients and design teams.
Essential:
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in SAP, SBEM or planning-related energy assessments
• Proficiency in Elmhurst, Stroma or equivalent Part L assessment tools
• Good working knowledge of Part L and planning policy (e.g., London Plan)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Ability to interpret plans, sections and specifications
• UK-based, with full right to work
Desirable:
• Experience preparing planning Energy Statements
• Exposure to daylight/sunlight, sustainability, or wider environmental assessments
• Understanding of Whole Life-Cycle Carbon or net-zero frameworks
• Interest in developing skills in IES-VE or M&E (optional, long-term pathway)
What We Offer
• Fully remote working
• Clear development pathway into advanced modelling, WLC, and M&E (optional)
• Private medical insurance
• Professional memberships covered (Elmhurst, CIBSE, etc.)
• Company laptop and phone
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
• Quarterly team meet-ups and industry events
• Opportunity to shape a growing department as we expand nationally
Why Join Us
At Focus 360 Energy, you’re not just completing assessments — you’re contributing to the full compliance lifecycle of projects across the UK. You’ll work on a broad range of developments, gain exposure to advanced sustainability workstreams, and join a company investing heavily in technology, process, and long-term service expansion.
If you’re looking for technical progression, a supportive team, and a role that grows with your expertise — we’d love to hear from you.
