Job Summary
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive Trauma and Orthopaedics Service with a specialist interest in upper limb surgery. The post requires a fellowship-trained upper limb surgeon and, ideally, additional trauma fellowship experience. The role includes clinical duties (ward rounds, clinics, trauma operative work), teaching, audit and governance participation, and full participation in a 1:10 on‑call rota (7‑day working commitment).
Responsibilities
* Deliver general trauma and orthopaedic care with a specialist focus on upper limb surgery.
* Provide inpatient and outpatient care, including ward rounds and elective clinics.
* Participate in the rolling trauma rota and support complex upper limb trauma cases.
* Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
* Contribute to audit, clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide on‑call cover according to the 7‑day rota (split sites) and maintain flexible working to maximise theatre and out‑patient utilisation.
Qualifications & Experience
* FRCS or equivalent qualification, or within 6 months of obtaining CCT/CESR.
* GMC registration (or forthcoming).
* Fellowship‑trained in upper limb surgery.
* Desirable: additional trauma fellowship.
* Experience within a 1:10 on‑call rota and multi‑site working.
