Offer description

Please note: this opportunity is only available to current employees of the University

Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly organised and motivated individual to join our Placement Team as a Placement Administrator (fixed-term for 12 months). In this role, you will support the delivery of a high-quality placement service for students, academic staff and placement providers, managing administrative activity across the full student placement journey and helping to ensure quality assurance, compliance and excellent customer service.

You will plan and coordinate placement activity across designated academic programmes, maintain accurate placement records using systems such as InPlace and PARE, support the preparation of reports and documentation, and help ensure that placement processes run efficiently and effectively.

Working closely with students, programme teams, placement providers and external partners, you will act as a key point of contact for placement enquiries, build strong working relationships, communicate clearly and professionally, and respond sensitively to student concerns where appropriate.

The role also involves maintaining and updating placement management systems, monitoring placement hours and data, supporting service improvements, and contributing to operational activities such as meetings, student-facing events, Welcome Week preparation, and associated placement logistics.

We are looking for someone educated to RQF Level 3 (A Level, Scottish Higher or equivalent) or with equivalent experience, with previous experience in a relevant administrative role involving information management systems. Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, confidence using IT systems including Office 365, and a professional, proactive approach are essential.

You will be someone who can work independently, use initiative, handle confidential information with discretion, and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.

We offer a comprehensive set of staff benefits which includes a competitive salary, 35 hour working week(pro rata), 33 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata), excellent pension scheme with 8% employer contribution, hybrid working in line with business need and corporate discounts to name a few.

We encourage applications from the broadest range of society, including all under-represented groups with particular emphasis on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in our University and in comparison, to the sector.
