Randstad are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to work for a renowned Main Tier Construction Company on the Thames Water AMP Framework. \n\nThis role is ideal for a proactive leader with extensive hands-on experience who can identify and manage commercial risks effectively while ensuring full compliance with company governance and contract requirements. You will be instrumental in delivering our Commercial Objectives, leading high-performing teams, and building strong relationships both inside and outside the company.\n\nThis is a freelance role expected to last 6 months - Paid LTD (Outside IR35)\n\nBased in Central London - Liverpool Street \n\n**Previous Construction Water Experience on the AMP framework is highly desirable\n\nWhat You'll Do:\n\nLead commercial activities during project bid and work-winning phases.\n\nOversee allocation and management of commercial resources across multiple project teams.\n\nManage commercial staff handling contract administration, supply chain and subcontractor management, document control, cost capture and reporting (including CLRs), and programme planning.\n\nEnsure valuations and commercial reports are delivered promptly and align with contract deadlines.\n\nMonitor cash flow and financial risk across projects.\n\nLead negotiations and maintain collaborative relationships with clients' commercial and project teams.\n\nEnforce adherence to company policies, contract obligations, and commercial procedures.\n\nMaintain accurate commercial records and proactively resolve contractual issues.\n\nMentor and develop commercial team members, supporting recruitment and onboarding.\n\nProvide expert commercial advice to Contract Leaders and Sector Managers.\n\nDrive consistency in commercial processes sector-wide.\n\nManage project insurance and risk assessments.\n\nEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\nEssential:\n\nStrong financial and commercial acumen with strategic, analytical, and solution-focused thinking.\n\nExpertise in document management systems and contract correspondence.\n\nSkilled in collaborative negotiation, commercial reporting, and minute-taking.\n\nDesirable:\n\nMinimum 7 years' commercial experience post-graduation in construction.\n\nProven success in procurement strategy and contract management.\n\nDemonstrated leadership and negotiation abilities.\n\nSolid understanding of legal, contractual, and construction industry standards.\n\nExperience driving strategic change and innovation.\n\nCalm, resilient leadership under pressure aligned with our culture of continuous improvement.\n\nQualifications:\n\nDegree accredited by RICS or CICES (Desirable).\n\nFull professional membership with RICS or CICES (desirable).\n\nRandstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
