Your Scope

The purpose of this role is to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across both office and amenity block environments. The cleaner ensures that workspaces remain orderly, presentable, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements. By supporting both administrative and operational areas, this role contributes directly to a safe, efficient, and productive workplace for all employees.

Teamwork

·Collaborate effectively with colleagues across both office and factory environments to maintain a clean, safe, and organised workplace.

·Support team members by sharing tasks during peak periods and providing cover when needed.

·Work closely with supervisors and facility managers to ensure cleaning priorities are met.

Communication

·Communicate clearly with staff, supervisors, and factory about cleaning schedules, access requirements, and any issues that may impact work areas.

·Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages promptly.

·Maintain a professional and friendly manner when interacting with employees across all departments.

Strategic

·Plan daily cleaning activities to meet the needs of two distinct environments—office and factory—ensuring efficiency and minimal disruption.

·Prioritise tasks based on footfall, operational requirements, and safety considerations.

·Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting practical ways to enhance cleanliness and workplace hygiene.

Analytical

·Assess cleaning needs within various areas and adjust methods or schedules accordingly.

·Monitor the effectiveness of cleaning routines and identify areas requiring additional attention.

·Apply problem-solving skills to address issues such as spills, contamination risks, or supply limitations.

Your profile

Responsibilities & Expertise

·Perform general cleaning duties across offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, and communal spaces.

·Maintain cleanliness in factory areas including production floors and staff facilities.

·Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect surfaces, and remove waste regularly.

·Restock cleaning and hygiene supplies.

·Ensure compliance with company health and safety standards, including the use of proper PPE in designated areas.

·Follow cleaning schedules but remain flexible to respond to immediate needs or incidents.

·Operate cleaning equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance requirements.

·Ensure all admin is completed efficiently.

Compliance

·Adhere to all company health and safety policies, cleaning protocols, and hygiene standards.

·Follow COSHH guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and materials.

·Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe working practices in both office and factory environments.

·Comply with regulations relevant to factory operations, including contamination control and restricted-area procedures.

·Maintain accurate records where required (e.g., cleaning logs, incident reports).

Qualifications and Experience

·Previous cleaning experience in office, industrial, or mixed-use environments is preferred.

·Strong understanding of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.

·Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards, particularly within factory settings.

·Ability to follow structured routines while adapting to changing priorities.

·Able to perform manual tasks.

·Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
