About Airline Sales Specialist role
An Airline Sales Specialist will primary liaison between the hotel and airline partners, growing the companys airline portfolio, securing differentiated airline contract, and increasing airline revenue streams, volumes, and market share as per the Sales plan. The role drives revenue through negotiated contracts, group bookings, and long-term airline crew accommodation agreements, reinforcing the hotels reputation as the first choice in the market.
The successful Airline Sales Specialist will undertake the following duties:
1. Commercial Negotiation & Contract Management
Negotiate global airline commercial contracts and commissions.
Review and provide feedback on airline contracts, liaising with senior management and finance teams to ensure compliance with governance standards.
Secure differentiated airline content from scheduled carriers, low-cost airlines, and charter providers.
Manage the day-to-day relationship between Atrium Hotel Heathrow and airline partners and conducting regular onsite/offsite meetings.
Position Atrium Hotel Heathrow as the first-choice call for delayed flights or disrupted services at the airport, ensuring rapid response and seamless accommodation solutions
2. Sales & Business Development
Identify and explore new revenue streams and business opportunities.
Collaborate with line managers and departmental teams to streamline communication and resolve issues.
Develop strategies to support the companys Sales Plan and maximise occupancy and revenue.
Utilise data sources and reporting tools to build an expert view of account portfolios and market trends, sharing insights clearly with the wider business.
3. Operational & Communication Excellence
Monitor hotel occupancy levels and share timely updates with airline partners.
Accurately enter and update airline booking details in the reservations system.
Work with Reservations and Sales teams to ensure room rates reflect market demand.
Coordinate with Duty Managers and kitchen teams to ensure readiness for airline layovers or delays.
Communicate business information effectively across departments and stakeholders.
Lead and contribute to regular departmental meetings, fostering collaboration across teams.
4. Financial & Operational Management
Manage administration and financial reporting for a portfolio of accounts, working closely with finance teams.
Oversee administration and financial reporting for airline accounts in partnership with finance teams.
Provide accurate budgeting, forecasting, and performance data to senior management.
Ensure departmental operational budgets are adhered to within approved expenditure.
Be flexible in extending job duties when required to meet business demands and guest service needs.
Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
Skills and requirements
Accomplished hospitality sales leader with extensive UK Airport Hotel experience, delivering strong business development results and long-term client relationships
Exceptional customer care skills
Excellent leadership skills
Ability to work in a busy environment
Knowledge of Local area Heathrow / Hounslow is preferred
Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the hotel
Experience as a Departmental Head in sales department in hotels leading corporate segment is a highly preferred.
