Help improve the lives and environment of people living on the Hurst Farm Estate in Matlock.
What difference will you make?
Local residents are working with us to achieve our mission through practical outdoor activities including woodland management, a community garden, dry-stone walling, and bee-keeping. Our volunteer programmes aim to improve skills and wellbeing for local people. We also strive to create financial sustainability through viable social enterprises on Hurst Farm, owned and operated by the community.
What are we looking for?
We seek individuals with knowledge, skills, or experience in areas such as community representation for residents or financial management (specifically, a Treasurer).
What will you be doing?
Hurst Farm Regeneration Limited, trading as Hurst Farm Wild Works, is a charitable community benefit society established in 2022. We aim to enhance the lives and environment of residents on the Hurst Farm Estate in Matlock, Derbyshire. We are collaborating with Derbyshire Dales District Council on the £1.2m National Lottery Heritage Funded Hurst Farm Heritage Trail project, running until 2026, to improve footpaths connecting four heritage sites around the woodland.
Mentored by The Green Estate Community Interest Company, with 25 years of experience in social enterprise, we are looking to recruit additional trustees to strengthen our Board. The Board oversees governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, risk management, and the delivery of our mission and values. Experience in private, public, or charitable sectors is welcome; prior trustee experience is not required. All trustee roles are voluntary.
