Financial Reporting Accountant - Hybrid working - Hertfordshire - Competitive day-rate
This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial accounting, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and ensuring strong financial controls. The Financial Accountant will work closely with the wider finance function, including reporting, commercial finance, tax, and treasury.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform monthly accounting activities including journal postings, accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
2. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations across a range of accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls.
3. Support technical accounting activities, including the interpretation and application of relevant accounting standards and group policies.
4. Ensure financial reporting is completed in line with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
5. Assist in the preparation of forecasts and analysis relating to key accounting areas, including IFRS-related adjustments.
6. Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines.
7. Contribute to year-end audit activities, providing information and analysis to internal and external auditors.
