Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient-centred dental nurse who is passionate about their profession, conscientious, organised, punctual, computer literate and maintains the highest clinical standards. The role is a mix of nursing, working in the decontamination suite and covering reception if required.
Responsibilities
* Implement and maintain cross-infection control protocols to safeguard patient well-being.
* Adhere to standards set by the General Dental Council (GDC), including maintenance of daily and weekly checklists, stock control, waste management, equipment upkeep, and cleaning in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
* Demonstrate a sound understanding of Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliance.
* Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour to provide excellent patient care.
* Take patients' medical histories.
* Assist the Dentist or Hygienist with all clinical aspects within the surgery, including diagnosing and providing dental treatment (regular cleaning, root canals, surgical extractions, implants and cosmetic dentistry).
* Provide administrative support for patient referrals for surgery or orthodontic work.
* Prepare dental materials and perform general cleaning duties.
* Maintain accurate patient records and details of consultations.
* Ensure strict adherence to clinical and safety protocols by the dental team.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with the team to implement positive changes.
* Keep up to date with best practices, new technologies and innovations in dentistry.
* Support duties include nursing, decontamination suite work, and reception coverage when required.
* Perform high quality reception and administrative duties as part of the role.
Qualifications & Requirements
* GDC Registered (required).
* Indemnity Insurance (required).
* Up to date Hep B certificate and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Fluent English (required).
* Authorisation to work in the UK (required).
* Experience as a Dental Nurse relevant to the role (not applicable to Trainee Dental Nurse).
* Experience with iSmile software (not essential; training provided if required).
* Excellent communication and time-keeping skills.
* Ability to remain composed and professional in a fast-paced environment.
* Motivated, ethical, with strong commitment to providing high-quality dental care.
* Well presented, hardworking, reliable, and organised with strong attention to detail.
* Dedicated to ongoing professional development and willingness to learn.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
* Uniform provided.
* DBS check will be required.
